Francis Hoar: Non-Executive Director
Francis, a barrister at Field Court Chambers, is ranked by Chambers and Partners as a leading election lawyer (one of only two non-QCs). He also specialises in employment law (including trade union law) and public law.
Francis has acted for candidates and political parties in many recent election petitions. He advised one of the leading campaigners in the EU referendum and provides ongoing advice to campaigning organisations and frequently advises about technical issues relating to elections.
In 2016 Francis was shortlisted for ‘Barrister of the Year’ by The Lawyer magazine.
James Tumbridge CC, MCIArb., LLB.(Hons): Non-Executive Director
James is a barrister and Partner at Venner Shipley LLP. His general specialisms are commercial litigation, intellectual property and ADR. His sub-specialisms are election and data law.
James has acted as Election Scrutineer and legal advisor for candidates across numerous elections. He has been a Common Councilman for the Tower Ward in the City of London since 2009, during which time he has undertaken a review of 1957 Ward Elections Act, leading to a new way of registering voters, and taken a leading role in reports to the Boundary and Electoral Commissions.
Thomas Borwick: Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Thomas has extensive experience across various political campaigns and founded Kanto Systems in 2012. Thomas was Chief Technology officer of the Vote Leave campaign, where the mobile ‘get out the vote’ canvassing app he had previously developed formed the basis of VICS (Voter Intention Collection System), widely credited with helping to mobilise an unprecedented 17 million voters on polling day. Thomas has a passion for better democracy and is a qualified OSCE/ODIHR observer.
