Job Title: Ballot Manager

Job Description:

Kanto Elect www.kantoelect.com is certified by the Department of BEIS as an independent scrutineer to run ballots in the UK. We are looking for a Ballot Manager to act as the lead for various balloting projects. The individual will lead several specific projects and develop the Kanto Elect brand for various elections, Trade Unions, NHS boards, professional bodies and others.

 

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for innovation and a flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities. You will have strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and ensure that objectives are met. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and will have a passion for delivering excellent ballot and election services.

 

You will be responsible for the continual growth of your own division within Kanto Elect. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience working within the ballot industry for more than 4 years, and from those who have in-depth knowledge of UK electoral process and ballot provisions for union and non-political elections. During peak periods there will be a necessity to work significant additional hours, including evenings and weekends to meet demanding deadlines.

 

Main Duties:

  • Independently planning, managing, and leading specific projects

    • Researching suppliers / potential clients

    • Carrying out risk assessments  

    • Ensuring that all the aims of the project are met

  • Recruiting sub-contractors

  • Managing sub-contractors to ensure that all aims of the project are met

  • Ensuring complete compliance in line with current legislation

  • Flexibility to take on and share a variety of workloads with short notice

  • To work to meet Kanto Elect’s strategic objectives with maximum impact

  • Using initiative to secure new clients, pursue new ideas and identify new business opportunities  

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum four years of experience in ballot sales

  • Experience in a project management role

    • Financial/budget management experience

  • A strong working knowledge of UK electoral processes, compliance requirements and the ballot industry.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels.

  • Ability to work collaboratively on Google work suite (Google Docs, Sheets etc).

  • All Microsoft office programmes, Word, Outlook, Excel.

  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to keep up with market changes/demands.

We are looking for a Digital Ballot Manager to act as the lead for various online balloting projects. The individual will lead the operations for online ballots and manage several specific elections including Trade Unions, NHS boards, professional bodies and others.

 

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for innovation and a flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities. You will have strong project management skills along with your technical skills. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers and will have a passion for delivering excellent ballot and election services.

 

You will be responsible for the continual growth of your own division within Kanto Elect. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience managing AWS infrastructure.  

 

Ideally, you will have worked within the ballot industry for more than 3 years, and have in-depth knowledge of UK electoral process and ballot provisions for union and non-political elections.

During peak periods there will be a necessity to work significant additional hours, including evenings and weekends to meet demanding deadlines.

  • To work to meet Kanto Elect’s strategic objectives with maximum impact

Role Summary:
We need an experienced, confident self-starter who shares our ethos of going the extra mile to deliver the results that others would only hope to achieve. Key responsibilities:
Kanto is a team of 11 people and you will work alongside them to identify new business
opportunities. You will be responsible for:

  • Creating sales plans that take into consideration the various markets Kanto works in.

  • Establish new contacts through prospecting and create a concise database of potential clients on Hubspot

  • Grow the customer base by winning new accounts within defined growth markets as well as developing existing accounts to ensure substantial growth is seen by Kanto.

  • Agreeing sales targets with management and give regular updates on progress.

  • Closing negotiations with interested parties to win the contract.

  • Create reports for management detailing daily call reports, weekly work plans an monthly analysis.

  • Keeping up with changes in the markets and reflecting those changes in work plans and sales strategy.

  • Create reports on our competitors to ensure our sales strategy is the right one and our marketing, prices, delivery schedules and pitches are correct.

  • Manage client relationships, deal with customer complaints and suggest ways to keep our customers coming back to us.

  • Ensuring our marketing strategy promotes Kanto to the right people and attracts new clients.

  • Understanding, or have a willingness to learn, end-to-end ballot, election and voting services markets.
